About Us

PPKP Bentong started to operate in the year 2005 under the name of Tamil Language Society. The main objective of the society was to organize seminars for PMR, SPM and STPM students which were held at the SRJK (Tamil) Bentong premises. The headmaster of the said school then was Mr.B. Mardappan who kindly permitted us to use the facility to implement our programmes.Our first program was officiated by our Honorable Minister Dato Sri Liow Tiong Lai then the Minister of Youth and Culture. The closing ceremony was fulfilled by the honorable Dato Siva Subramaniam, SUHAKAM. A total of 300 students and 200 parents participated in our pioneer programme.

Through the years the activities of this organization multiplied and various activities focusing on education and language were organized and conducted for students, parents and the public at large. The paramount objective of the organization is to guide and help the poor and needy students to obtain scholarships and financial aid to fulfill their aspirations. Our target group on this aspect are the form six students and students who gained entrance to the local and private universities.

We have successfully stepped into our seventh year (2011) since we started our journey. Looking back, it gives us great pleasure and satisfaction to learn that we have played a significant role in producing a disciplined Indian, particularly Tamil generation, of students who have grown to be responsible towards the community, society and not to mention the nation, our beloved country Malaysia.

Organization’s History

Our humble beginning with the motive of organizing educational activities first materialized on 23th Aprtil 2004 under the banner of Tamil Language Society. It was felt that operating under the said name had restrictions and constrains in organizing activities. The committee felt it would face obstacles in achieving our beloved Prime Minister YAB. Dato Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak’s vision of creating an Ideal Malaysian Soul.

Thus, the committee unanimously agreed to register the organization under the name of Persatuan Pembimbing Kemajuan Pelajaran for Education Programme dan Persatuan Pendokong Bahasa Tamil to strengthen, widen and educate the Tamil society of the importance of the Tamil Language. The application for registration was approved in 2008 & 2010.
